David Brown

David Brown’s artistic journey began in grade school—but like many of his generation, he was told by high school to “put away such childish things” and choose a more practical path. He did just that, shifting from paint to people, eventually building a successful career as a psychotherapist, life coach, and executive leadership coach. Yet creativity never left him—it simply took a different form.

Through years of guiding others to see new perspectives and embrace their full potential, David came to recognize a striking pattern: nearly all his clients were closet creatives. Encouraging them to rediscover their artistic side led to more meaningful, fulfilling lives—and in turn, inspired David to return to his own roots as an artist.

He began taking art classes at a local museum and was immediately drawn to working three-dimensionally with clay. Living with MS, which causes persistent tingling in his hands, David found unexpected connection in the tactile conversation between hand and material. “In coaching,” he says, “conversation means ‘changing together.’ That’s what happens when I work with clay—we discover something new, together.”

Today, David works across a variety of media, but his creative purpose remains the same: to invite others into experiences that shift perspective—from the practical to the sublime. His work speaks quietly but powerfully, waiting to find the right home in the eyes and hands of someone ready to see things anew.
