Floral Shadows Watercolor Series

Instructor: Dorothy Koliba
Thursdays • January 8, 15, 22, 29 • 10 AM–12 PM
4-Week Class

Step into the gentle, luminous world of watercolor with local artist Dorothy Koliba in this focused four-week series all about capturing floral shadows — those soft, essential shifts in value that bring flowers to life on paper.

Whether you’re brand new to watercolor or looking to strengthen your technique, this class will help you understand the subtle art of shading petals, leaves, and botanical forms. Dorothy will guide you through:

  • How light affects flowers and casts soft, realistic shadows

  • Building depth through transparent watercolor layers

  • Choosing the right brushes, pigments, and paper for shadow work

  • Techniques for creating volume, contrast, and mood in botanical compositions

Each week builds on the last, giving you a clear, supported path from fundamentals to finishing your own floral studies with confidence.

All levels welcome. Spaces are limited to keep the class relaxed and supportive — early registration is recommended.
