Melissa Horan creates jewelry using semi-precious stones and metal such as sterling silver , brass and copper. Her designs are deeply inspired by the natural beauty of coastal Florida and New England coast salt marshes, tidal rhythms and the geometric patterns found in both land and sea. Geometry and organic form reflect in her work, a balance between structure and nature.

Her company name OPR pays homage to Old Point Road, the address of her childhood home in coastal New England. The personal geography bridging northern roots and southern waters is deeply reflected in her pieces. When asked of her creative pursuit Melissa explains “Through my work, I aim to not only evoke quiet reflection of the connection to personal landscapes but to rekindle childhood memories of fancy free days”
