Celebrate the season with a cozy, creative afternoon at Harbor City Art! Learn the timeless art of basket weaving using the premium Autumn Baskets Kit by Flax & Twine, made with beautiful, eco-friendly raffia from Madagascar.
In this relaxing, hands-on class, you’ll learn the coiled and wrapped basket-making technique while creating up to three unique baskets — perfect for keeping, sharing, or gifting. The kit includes everything you need: natural and dyed raffia, needle, clippers, project bag, printed pattern, and a detailed video tutorial to continue at home.
🧺 Each kit makes up to three baskets that mix colors and shapes beautifully — sturdy enough to hold keys or sunglasses, or light enough to hang as art. Kits can be shared — make them all yourself, or invite a friend to join the fun!
Can’t make it to class? Flax & Twine Basket Kits are also available for purchase in the gallery and include both written and video instruction you can access to work at your own pace — a wonderful gift for yourself or a creative friend.

About the Kit
The Flax & Twine Autumn Baskets Kit will teach you basket weaving in an afternoon with an easy-to-follow pattern and video! Using a coiled and wrapped basket-making technique, the kit includes enough materials to make three fabulous baskets.
Each basket is thoughtfully designed to mix colors and shapes that work beautifully together — displayed as a set on the wall or individually on their own. Each is sturdy enough to hold keys, a wallet, or sunglasses, and light enough to hang beautifully on the wall.
Consider this technique your launching point for endless design possibilities! The detailed pattern and video walk you through every step and show how to play with color, shape, and pattern. You can wrap with random color placement, meaningful progressions, or simple alternating stripes to create three amazing baskets — and new skills you can build on.
We love the light, eco-friendly Flax & Twine Raffia, a sustainable crop sourced from Madagascar. The raffia gives a natural basket look while remaining soft, flexible, and easy to work with — no soaking required.
