Work with Harbor City Art
Harbor City Art is a teaching studio and creative workspace centered on small-group instruction, thoughtful exhibitions, and hands-on creative practice.
We work with artists and makers who are interested in contributing to the studio through teaching, exhibiting, or participating in a way that supports a calm, well-run, and engaged creative environment.
Submissions are reviewed based on overall fit, experience, medium, and current studio needs.

How It Works
Harbor City Art manages registration, promotion, scheduling, and overall coordination for classes, workshops, and exhibitions.
All programming is presented within an established studio schedule and framework, designed to support both instructors and exhibiting artists while maintaining a consistent experience for students and visitors.
Compensation
Harbor City Art manages registration, promotion, and overall coordination for classes and workshops. Tuition is split on a 70/30 basis, with 70% paid to the instructor.
Artists exhibiting work may offer pieces for sale under a 30% commission structure.
This structure supports marketing, facility operations, and the ongoing development of programming within the studio.
Administrative
Instructors and participating artists are engaged as independent contractors. A completed W-9 is required, and payments are reported via Form 1099-NEC in accordance with IRS requirements.
