Carol Crotts

After retiring from a long career in nursing, Carol discovered pine needle basketry over 15 years ago and immediately fell in love with the art form. What began as a creative outlet quickly became a passion, as she found joy in mixing pine needles with other natural and modern mediums to create baskets that are truly one-of-a-kind.

Carol’s work celebrates both tradition and innovation—honoring the time-honored craft while adding her own artistic touches. Each piece reflects her belief that handmade art should be as unique as the hands that create it.

Alongside a fellow artist she taught, Carol co-founded Pine Away Baskets. Together they share their creations at 10–15 art shows each year, from St. Augustine to West Palm Beach, where their distinctive baskets have found an appreciative following.
