Working with locally gathered longleaf pine needles, Nancy brings a deep respect for nature and tradition into every piece she creates. Each basket begins with hand-collected fallen needles, which she carefully washes, bakes, and soaks in a glycerin bath to enhance their strength and pliability. Using centuries-old coiling techniques, she stitches the needles together with decorative threads, incorporating natural materials and found objects to create intricate, one-of-a-kind designs.

Each basket takes between 30 to 80 hours to complete, reflecting Nancy’s patient craftsmanship and eye for detail. Her work is both timeless and deeply rooted in the land, celebrating the quiet beauty of the Florida landscape.
