Intro to Handbuilding Pottery — 4-Week Series | Saturdays, Mar 7–Mar 28, 2026 | 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
Join us in our garden pottery studio on Saturday mornings — slow down, get your hands in clay, and build real, lasting skills in hand-built pottery.
This 4-week session is structured as a skill-building studio experience. Students will learn and strengthen core hand-building techniques — pinch, coil, and slab construction — through focused demonstrations, guided practice, and individual one-on-one instruction.
The class is designed to mirror the rhythm of a working pottery studio with time to practice, room to experiment, and steady guidance rather than step-by-step templates. Each student will work on projects of their own choosing, developing personal ideas, forms, and functional or sculptural work at their own pace.
The emphasis is on building transferable skills — techniques and processes students can continue using independently or by joining future Open Studio sessions at Harbor City Art. This class is designed to give students the confidence, foundation, and fluency to keep working with clay beyond the course itself.
