Handbuilt Pottery | 4 Weeks | Wednesday, July 8, 15, 22, 29 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Join us in the pottery studio and discover the creative possibilities of handbuilt ceramics in a relaxed, small-group setting designed for steady skill-building, individual guidance, and creative exploration.
Students are introduced to essential hand-building techniques—including pinch, coil, and slab construction—then develop personal projects with one-on-one instruction at their own pace.
Projects are individualized rather than following identical assignments. Whether functional, decorative, or sculptural, each piece reflects the student’s own interests and creative vision.
Class time reflects the natural rhythm of a working pottery studio. Some students may be building, others refining, texturing, glazing, or finishing previous work, while each receives individualized support throughout the session.
Whether you’re brand new to clay or have previous hand-building experience, you’ll work at your own pace with guidance tailored to your skill level. New students are introduced to the fundamentals of hand-building, while returning students continue developing their skills and personal projects alongside the group.
Each four-week session welcomes both new and returning students, creating a supportive studio community where everyone continues learning together. Many students choose to enroll month after month as they build confidence, explore new ideas, and enjoy the creative rhythm of working with clay.
All materials and firings are included. Enrollment is limited to ensure plenty of individual attention.
By registering for this class, participants acknowledge and agree to Harbor City Art Studio Policies.
