Handbuilt Pottery | 4 Weeks | Thursdays, Dec 3-31 | 1-3PM
Join us in the pottery studio and discover the creative possibilities of handbuilt ceramics in a relaxed, small-group setting designed for steady skill-building, individual guidance, and creative exploration. Beginners and returning students are both welcome to enjoy creating alongside others, sharing ideas, and connecting through conversation and a common interest in pottery.
Students are introduced to essential hand-building techniques—including pinch, coil, and slab construction—then develop personal projects with one-on-one instruction at their own pace.
Projects are individualized rather than following identical assignments. Whether functional, decorative, or sculptural, each piece reflects the student’s own interests and creative vision.
Class time reflects the natural rhythm of a working pottery studio. Some students may be building while others are refining, texturing, glazing, or finishing previous work, with each student receiving individualized instruction throughout the session. Working together in a shared studio offers community, inspiration, encouragement, and the enjoyment of seeing one another’s projects take shape.
Want to keep creating with us? You’re welcome to repeat the class as your schedule permits, continuing your projects, exploring new techniques, and building skills within a familiar studio community.
Clay, glazes, firings, and use of studio materials are included.
Holiday scheduling: The studio will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Students whose session falls on either date may choose from available makeup dates the following week to complete their pieces.
By registering for this class, participants acknowledge and agree to Harbor City Art Studio Policies.
