Never picked up a paintbrush before? You’re in the right place.

Many of our students begin with no previous watercolor experience. Whether you’ve always wanted to learn watercolor or are returning after years away, this welcoming class is designed to help you build confidence one step at a time. Complete beginners are encouraged, and students with some experience can continue developing their skills.

Professional watercolor artist Linda Neal provides personalized instruction in a relaxed, supportive studio where questions are encouraged and every student progresses at their own pace.

Over six weeks, you’ll learn the fundamentals of watercolor painting, including:

  • Color mixing

  • Brush techniques

  • Value and shading

  • Composition

  • Texture

  • Creating light and depth

As your confidence grows, you’ll also explore fun watercolor techniques such as salt, alcohol, plastic wrap, spattering, and more to create beautiful, expressive paintings.

A Few Things to Know

  • No drawing or painting experience is required.

  • Classes are intentionally kept small so every student receives individual guidance.

  • Students work at their own pace in a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere.

Supplies

Don’t worry if you don’t have supplies yet.

During the first class, Linda will explain the materials you’ll need, recommend quality products at different price points, and answer any questions about supplies. You’re also welcome to bring any watercolor materials you already own.
