Pine Needle Basket Workshop | Saturday, June 20 | 1:00-4:00PM

$95.00

Join basket artist Carol Crotts for a hands-on introduction to pine needle basketry, a traditional coiling technique that transforms natural materials into beautifully crafted functional forms. In this small-group workshop, participants will learn how to shape, stitch, and build a handwoven basket using natural pine needles and waxed thread, with step-by-step guidance throughout the process.

Participants will learn how to begin the coil, maintain form, and secure each section as the basket takes shape. Attention is given to both structure and finish, allowing each piece to develop its own character while remaining functional for everyday use.

The finished basket may be used as a small decorative vessel, catchall, or valet tray for keys, jewelry, and other small objects. Because of the natural variation in materials and hand stitching, no two baskets are exactly alike.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and offers a calm, focused making experience with individual guidance throughout. No prior experience is necessary.

All materials are included. Bring a thimble if you prefer to use one.

Small group • Maximum 4 participants
