Pine Needle Basket Workshop | Friday, Sep 25 | 1:00-4:00PM

$95.00

Discover the traditional art of pine needle basketry in this hands-on, small-group workshop focused on coiling, stitching, and shaping natural materials into beautiful, functional handmade baskets.

Your instructor, Carol Crotts, is an award-winning pine needle basket artist and founder of Pine Away Baskets. Carol has spent years teaching and preserving this traditional craft and was recently featured by Everything Brevard for her work keeping the ancient art of pine needle basketry alive. You can read the feature article here: https://www.everythingbrevard.com/blog/pine-away-baskets-keeps-ancient-coiling-art-alive

Participants will learn how to begin the coil, maintain an even shape, and stitch sections together using natural pine needles and waxed thread while creating a beautifully handcrafted basket step by step.

Throughout the workshop, Carol shares the techniques and traditions behind this centuries-old art form, providing individual guidance to help each participant build confidence while developing both craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Finished baskets may be used as decorative vessels, catchalls, or valet trays for keys, jewelry, and other small objects. Because of the natural variation in materials and hand stitching, every basket is one of a kind.

This workshop is designed for beginners and offers a relaxed, supportive learning environment with personalized instruction throughout. No prior experience is necessary.

All materials are included. A thimble is recommended for comfort but is not required.

Small group • Maximum 4 participants
