Pine Needle Basket Workshop | Saturday, August 15 | 1:00-4:00PM
Discover the traditional art of pine needle basketry in this hands-on small-group workshop with basket artist Carol Crotts. This class will focus on coiling, stitching, and shaping natural materials into functional handmade forms.
You’ll learn how to begin the coil, maintain shape, and stitch sections together using natural pine needles and waxed thread while creating a beautifully handcrafted basket step by step.
Attention is given to both structure and finish, allowing each basket to develop its own unique character while remaining functional for everyday use.
Finished baskets may be used as decorative vessels, catchalls, or valet trays for keys, jewelry, and other small objects. Because of the natural variation in materials and hand stitching, no two baskets are exactly alike.
This workshop is suitable for beginners with plenty of individual guidance throughout. No prior experience is necessary.
All materials are included. Participants may bring a thimble if preferred.
Small group • Maximum 4 participants
