Watercolor: Technique & Expression | 4 Weeks
Take your watercolor painting to the next level with award-winning artist Dorothy (Dolly) Koliba. In this four-week class, you’ll build on the skills you already have while exploring the techniques that bring watercolor paintings to life—and learning how to create the luminous glow, depth, and atmosphere that make a painting feel truly alive.
Through demonstrations, guided instruction, and individualized feedback, Dolly will help you explore color mixing, composition, value, transparent layering, brushwork, and the use of light. You’ll work with a variety of subjects while learning how these elements come together to create paintings with greater depth, dimension, and expression.
But this class isn’t about simply following steps. It’s about understanding why watercolor behaves the way it does and learning to make more intentional choices in your own work. Dolly encourages students to experiment, develop their skills, and begin finding the personal style and creative voice that make their paintings their own.
Each class provides plenty of time to paint in a relaxed, supportive studio environment, with instruction tailored to your experience and goals.
This class is best suited for students with some watercolor experience. Confident beginners are welcome but should have a basic familiarity with watercolor materials and techniques.
