Intro to Glass Lampworking - Wednesday, June 11, 2025 12:00-2:00PM

$95.00
Sold Out

Curious about working with glass? Here’s your chance to give it a try in a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment.

Join master glass artist Mitchell McCormack, also known as The Glass Gardener, for a hands-on introduction to lampworking with borosilicate glass. This beginner-friendly workshop is designed for those who have never worked with a torch before and are excited to explore the world of molten glass.

During this two-hour session, you’ll:

  • Learn how to safely operate a bench torch

  • Handle and heat glass rods to a molten state

  • Use basic shaping techniques to create small glass forms

  • Gain confidence and foundational skills in the art of flame-worked glass

Each participant will have the opportunity to create one or more simple pieces, such as a glass marble or pendant—perfect keepsakes from your first foray into torchwork. While final results vary depending on comfort and pace, everyone will leave with new skills and a greater appreciation for this unique craft.

All tools, materials, and safety gear are included. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to try something new.

Note: This introductory class is required for all students new to torchwork before enrolling in Mitchell’s intermediate and advanced courses.

Space is limited to just 2 students per session —register early to secure your spot.

Come melt some glass, and discover what you’re capable of creating!
